Work at Height and Rescue

3sun Academy’s two day Work at Height and Rescue course takes candidates to the next level with the addition of the rescue module. This course provides candidates with the skill set required for the access and egress of communications tower and mast type structures.  The course involves additional theory to include all aspects of work at height, rescue and the care of casualties that may be suffering from suspension intolerance.

This course is designed to make operatives fully conversant in the operation of the rescue kit and its various modes of use. Our course will enable operatives to use the rescue kit in a variety of locations.

  • Selection, inspection and storing of PPE/PFPE
  • Correct fitting and use of equipment
  • Safe use of various fall protection systems including work restraint, work positioning, fall arrest, inertia reel

  • Suspension trauma management
  • Managing rescues
  • Basic rescue principles and techniques
  • Rigging requirements
  • Rescue on an open framed structure
  • Practical training on our 22 meter high training tower under close supervision and guidance of our experienced Instructors.

 

Assessment of Course:

Candidates will be assessed through both observation of practical skills and a written assessment. Upon successful completion of the course a certificate will be provided to the candidate and will be valid for two years (recommended refresher training for rescue on a yearly basis).

 

Delegate Requirements:

Courses are of a strenuous nature; therefore a good level of fitness is advised and delegates must be medically fit. Candidates attending this course must have a good understanding of verbal and written English language.  We can accommodate any delegate with special needs providing we are advised at time of booking
