GWO First Aid Refresher

This one day GWO First Aid Refresher course aims to train safe and effective First Aid in the wind turbine industry/WTG environment in accordance with GWO First Aid training. Refresher training reviews and builds of previous knowledge. Training will be delivered through theoretical and practical learning.

Refresher training is available to candidates who have not expired their current certification.

Course Content:

  • The importance of carrying out First Aid in a safe and sound manner in accordance with the legislative requirements of their geographic location and according to European Resuscitation Council and American Heart Association guidelines
  • Normal function of the human body
  • Signs and symptoms of serious and minor injuries
  • Order of management in an emergency situation in a offshore environment
  • Use of lifesaving first aid using the primary survey A-B-C
  • How to use an automatic external defibrillator (AED)
  • Correct use of ordinary First Aid, the secondary survey
  • Use of first aid equipment in a first aid scenario

 

Assessment of Course:

Candidates will be assessed through both observation of practical skills and a written assessment. Upon successful completion of the course a certificate will be provided to the candidate and will be valid for two years.

 

Delegate Requirements:

Courses are of a strenuous nature; therefore a good level of fitness is advised and delegates must be medically fit. Candidates attending this course must have a good understanding of verbal and written English language. We can accommodate any delegate with special needs providing we are advised at time of booking
